Safety in The Kitchen: Kids Kitchen Safety Tips
By JAN ASHBY
It is essential for kids to get a good foundation, before they start to cook or prepare anything in the kitchen. Your son or daughter should LEARN some Kids safety tips, before getting underway. What specifically?
Well, things they should understand – such as why it is SAFER to work with a sharp knife than a dull one. This is because you have to push harder when using a DULL knife – and this can cause injuries.
For a fun rundown on kitchen tools for kids (fun gadgetry), you can check the Amazon book called “Gadgetology“, which has many fun tools and covers kids safety in the kitchen. It even has an old-fashioned apple-peeler that affixes to one’s counter.
If you would like to see a sample of this cool book, you can find it at Google Books. Or just visit this link .
Then too, it is important for children to know the BASICS about working with cuts of meat – such as chicken.. It is obviously necessary for kids to understand that they cannot touch their face with their hands, when working with chicken. And that they must wash up with HOT, soapy water as soon as they have finished up.
It also is helpful if kids can get a “grass roots education” – that is, learn about where food begins – in the garden! If it is autumn or winter, you can simply do growing inside. For information on GROWING edible herbs, you may visit my main site Healthy Kids Info .
