Mango Banana Green Smoothie Video
VIDEO: DIY SMOOTHIE WITH MOSTLY ORGANIC INGREDIENTS ♥
A mother makes up a green smoothie with organic baby spinach, swiss chard and kale. She makes the power smoothie in a vitamix blender, and she adds organic sugar.
The flavor tends to be a bit bland without the extra sugar – she has to add this, or her 2 boys will not drink the green smoothie.
You’ll see she first blends the organic mango pieces with her greens, before adding in the frozen bananas (she uses three and a half bananas).
The bananas are in big pieces – if you have a Vitamix, it should be able to handle good-sized chunks.
TIP: Once you’ve added the banana, turn blender on and combine for just 10 seconds !
*NOTE: If you get a refurbished Vitamix, it may get worn down more quickly (than a new one) – due to constantly blending frozen fruit ♦♦
Lunch Smoothies Last Longer if They Have Both Veggies and Fruit: Why?
Making lunch smoothies for your work (or school) should include some organic spinach, kale, swiss chard etc. – this is to BALANCE out the Fruit sugars ..
Why? Well, you see, it’s because a smoothie containing only fruit sugars goes through your system rapidly – i.e., these sugars get digested quickly, and are converted to ENERGY in the form of a ‘rapid burst’.
For longer-lasting energy, you would need to include some high-quality greens and other vegetables (like beets)
